Albuquerque basic orienteering

Basic Orienteering taught by New Mexico Orienteers, as part of the City of Albuquerque's Open Space Summer Series.

Enjoy a 2 to 3 hour class taught by international competition orienteer Jerry Boyd and others from New Mexico Orienteers. Learn to navigate a set course off trail, following a map and with an experienced coach standing by to teach you navigational skills such as orienting map to terrain, "aiming off", using "handrails" and "attack points", and much more.

This is a public, no-fee event. Location is the city's newest open space, The 66 on 66. Bring water, a compass if you have one, and whatever you need to deal with a strenuous area.
